How to put a Stapler in Jello
Step 1: Prepare Ingredients
- 1 Stapler
- 5 boxes of Jello (more depending on size of stapler)
- Enough water as per Jello box instructions
- 1 Pan
- 1 Tupperware
- 2 Pieces of Dental Floss
- 1 Measuring Cup
- Tape

- We found a piece of tupperware that was able to contain the stapler
and 10 cups of water. We calculated that 5 boxes of jello would do the
job.
Step 2: Prepare Jello
- Follow the instructions on your jello box. This may include:
- Boil Water.
- Pour Jello Mix into boiling water and stir well.
- Optional: Add Gelatin to the Jello Mix to make the jello more solid!
- While we waited for the water to boil, we prepared the stapler in
the tupperware (see next step).
Step 3: Prepare Stapler in Tupperware
- Place the stapler upside down inside the tupperware.
- Cut two pieces of dental floss long enough to wrap around the tupperware.
- Suspend the stapler inside the tupperware and off the bottom surface
of the tupperware. This can be achieved by taping the two floss pieces
to the tupperware and hanging the stapler by the dental floss pieces.
(see pictures below).
- This will help give the final product a great look of a stapler being
suspended and floating inside a glob of jello! It takes some time and
patience to suspend the stapler using the tape and floss method. Be
sure only to tape the outside of the tupperware!
- Alternatively, there are other methods to achieve a suspension look.
If you have more time, you can also create an initial layer of solid
Jello, place the stapler on that layer, and then fill the tupperware
with a second pouring of jello.
Step 4: Pour Jello into Tupperware
- By now, you should have a fresh liquid jello batch ready to pour.
Carefully pour the hot liquid jello into the tupperware containing the
supsended stapler.
- The tupperware should be at least half way filled with this hot liquid
jello.
- Fill the rest of the tupperware with cold water all the way to the
the top. Your stapler should be totally submerged in liquid jello.
- Place the lid on the top of the tupperware to close it and place it
inside the refrigerator to cool. Let the jello solidify.
- Again, be careful handling the hot jello! You also want to be sure
that your tupperware can hold boiling water. You may also want to let
the jello cool off a little bit before placing it inside your refrigerator.
We let the stapler in jello in tupperware in refrigerator sit overnight
while we watched episodes of The Office TV Show =)
Step 5: Deliver Stapler in Jello
- By now, your jello in stapler in tupperware should be cooled and solidified.
- Take off the tupperware lid and cut the dental floss pieces from the
side of the jello. Remove the excess floss and tape. Your stapler should
be suspended in the jello with no visible signs of the floss!
- Close the tupperware with the lid on top
- Flip your tupperware upside down. The stapler should be right side
up inside the jellow now.
- Optional: If you have made a very solid jello enclosing, you can remove
the lid and slide the jello outside of the container. It is harder to
maintain the structure of the jello, but definitely has a great look
as seen on tv.
- Deliver the stapler in jello and have a good time!
- We decided to deliver the stapler in jello inside the tupperware to
play it safe. We ended up wrapping the stapler in jello in tupperware
in christmas wrapping and gave it to our manager for Christmas. =) Now you know how to put a stapler in jello - Forward this page on to your friends!
